Aug 12 – 22

Fountain pops and great sandwiches are a few memories these dishes should bring back.  As far as we can tell the Ontario Cafe was here in the 1920’s right into the late 1950’s and was a  favorite of many locals. We have acquired a couple small side plates and this lovely sugar bowl.  The bowl has a big chip out of the back of the lid but as you can tell the front is perfect for display still (or use as the bowl is also in perfect condition).  The plates are all marked “Ontario Cafe Midland” as well (see photos below)

We have some great old comics and paper items in as well.  Few local post cards and some interesting books like a 1930’s radio  and popular science magazine.  Ranging in price from 2.00 to 20.00 (like this rare snow white and the seven dwarfs classic junior comic book in very good condition).

A few other items worth mentioning this week are…

  • A number of vintage signed wrestling photos (WWF) with authentic certs.
  • A Dale-Ton tin (Tea) can with ” Barrie – Orillia – Midland” written on it
  • A vintage reproduction of art deco jadite (Single Pitcher and two sets of counter jars with aluminum tops) all in perfect condition
  • Few Beatles records (magical Mystery, abbey road)
  • Kingston Dairy milk bottle
  • some vintage Ontario post cards
  • some great Heinz soup booklets
  • a pair of art glass fish
  • RCA MIDLAND record
  • Schooner B – Midland Plate
  • Uranium Swirl Vase
  • Midland Rotary club (Mini) paddle
  • Coke-Cola Pitcher
  • Cast Iron Match Holder (Wall Mount)
  • and more…
